Abstract
The Augustana College Social Committee was organized in 1937, replacing the former Board of Control of Social Activities. The group claimed to "ignore organizational frontiers, including all students in its plans." The committee planned numerous all-school social events throughout the school year, including Halloween and Christmas parties as well as a Spring picnic. This collection contains the group's meeting minutes from 1937 to 1948.

Ethel Elvera Pearson attended Augustana College from 1918 to 1922. A graduate of Davenport High School, she majored in biological science at Augustana. Flavius J. Sten was born in St. Helens, Oregon. He attended the Augustana Academy for high school until 1911, when he entered Augustana College. He was involved in many organizations during his college career, most notably the basketball program.
